the 1st muslin from the pattern drafted on 7 sept 2014.

will be attaching an elastic waistband for fitting.  once it is ok, i will make another muslin with a zipper fly.

i am making trouser for my sons...

aman is 11,  faaiz is 9.  i have been having problems buying trousers or jeans that fit them well.  the waist are always too big.  so i decided to make them myself.

i googled and found these on the net.  i print them out and used google translate to read the instructions.

these are the photos of the pattern and part of the instruction that i printed out.

yes.  they are in russian.

and these are the pattern that i drafted for faaiz and aman.

i spent a total of 2 days. it was not easy.  but i nailed it in the end.  and i am so pleased.

i apologise....the photos are a bit blurry.

i will be drafting one for my eldest son  and one for my husband.

then i will be making some prototypes.  here is the prototype.

baju kurung moden that i made for alya and lisa, eid 2014

more photos of the baju kurung moden for alya and lisa.

i prefer making baju kurung moden rather than traditional baju kurung.  i think it gives more space to experiment on my creativity.  i am trying to incorporate raglan sleeves into the baju kurung moden in my next project.  alya prefers a looser armhole. i learn that a bigger armhole for set in sleeve will result in more restrictive arm movement.

this hari raya, i am making baju kurung moden for lisa and alya.

drafted the patterns for the baju kurung 2 days ago.  made one prototype for lisa.  had to make a few adjustments.

i made this cotton long sleeve dress or a baju kurung moden - a work in progress

i have ventured into long sleeve dresses.  worn with a maxi skirt.  i bought this fabric from a friend.  it is cotton....from india.  it is lightweight and smooth.  love it.

loose fitting.  don't need any zipper or other closure

simple neckline, wide enough to slip the dress over my head

i've been making these cotton sleeveless tops and dresses

these tops and dresses have not been pressed nor ironed prior to the photo shoot.  nonetheless, they still hang pretty well :)

they are supper comfy.  worn underneath an oversize jumper or a denim jacket..... or over a cotton long sleeve t.  these are the my staple wardrobe at the moment.  they are versatile.....can be dressed up or down.  just accessorise.
